Booting up and playing the first bit of ReCore is a fun time. The platforming can be fun, and the arcadey shooting is a decent enough time too. But just beating the story is an endeavor. Needless hours of grinding cores, and then the final tower is the angriest I’ve ever been in a game. And the world and characters are just so bland. This is a game you try out, and nothing more. It’s simple gameplay does not sustain its length
