2/5 ★ – josipher's review of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands.

The expansion that made me quit WoW. It’s really just the final straw that broke the camels back, but this was a bummer to play. Terrible zone layout, the constant backtracking through the dumb Maw and the renown grind. It doesn’t take a lot to give me a good time, but this expansion couldn’t even do that. Despite the problems with gameplay, this story is not bad. The character stuff they do at least is enjoyable. Having so much focus on Sylvanas and her redemption is boring, and I’m really not invested in her as a character at all, but at least they’ve tied up her plot for the time being. I don’t know if I’ll ever really be back into World of Warcraft. The MMO grind just isn’t something that excites me anymore, but this did show me that raids really are where the “combat” and boss design of this game excels. Maybe one day. You never truly quit. (I say this knowing I have Dragonflight to still do, I’m mainly talking about being BACK into it)
