4/5 ★ – kawaiju's review of Disney•Pixar Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue.

Discovered this was available to download on the PS3 for dirt cheap and had to get it. Total nostalgia trip. I’m rating it as a product of its time, however it still holds up fairly well. The biggest issue is that the game has a mix of complex platforming (which I usually love) coupled with laggy and often times unresponsive controls. The camera tends to also make the platforming difficult and at times incredibly frustrating. Cut scenes are also nonexistent and instead movie clips are spliced between levels, so the story is there but really isn’t the focus. Still solid though, one of the best Disney branded games to this day. If you’re looking for a trip down memory lane you won’t be disappointed.
