5/5 ★ – kimchia's review of Katamari Damacy.
I truly believe this is one of the greatest human creations ever made. It brings back the joy of playing with toys that is usually left behind as you grow older. When you’re playing as a child, the world seems so large and so big, but as we grow it all seems to get so small and familiar. Katamari Damacy takes that concept and rollllllls with it (sorry sorry), using that concept to give an amazing picture of how interconnected there world truly is. This game lets you grow from one meter to the size of the entire world in under 30 minutes, and in that time you go from thinking of the world as a gigantic place to realizing that it’s all connected after all, and that all of humankind’s infighting is really just petty squabbling.
Okay, I don’t really think this game needs to be overanalyzed like that, but that’s just what I see in it.
I only ended up playing this game because Lonely Rolling Star is like the greatest song ever made. Little did I know it comes with one of the greatest games ever made, too! (also lmao at how level 4 is obviously the worst balanced one so they compensated by writing one of the best pieces of music ever)
Yoooouuuuuuure lonnnnely rolling staaaaaaaaaar…
