3/5 ★ – liamhello's review of The Unfinished Swan.

I will eat up anything Annapurna Interactive throws at me, and like many other things that come from them, I really enjoyed my short time with Unfinished Sean. Giant Sparrow did a fantastic job with this, and you can see the kind of magic that they had that lead to their fantastic follow up What Remains of Edith Finch. While the story is short, it has heart and brought me to tears by the end of it. Although a tonal shift in the third chapter to straight horror had me very confused and distracted, and I am unsure if they used the paint mechanic well or not. While they continuously changed things up and kept them interesting, each mechanic left too quickly to feel memorable and fully explored. I wish they would have done more with perspective and different colors of paint but I also don't know if the game needed to be longer than the experience it was. All in all, a good game that is worth playing in a short rainy afternoon. While not flawless, it is a game I can absolutely recommend.
