4/5 ★ – loona's review of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney − Trials and Tribulations.

without a doubt, trials and tribulations is the best entry in the original ace attorney trilogy. t&t definitely has the best cases in the entire series as a whole. though i don't think anything could top turnabout goodbyes (from the first game) for me, personally, multiple cases come INCREDIBLY close to it with how fluid the cases felt, how cleverly they were written, and with how a lot of them actually cohesively connect to not just each other but other cases from the series as a whole. i was perfectly fine with each case feeling like a "monster of the week", but the narrative in t&t that connected multiple cases was something i did not realize i needed! not only that, but even the cases that didn't contribute to said interwoven plot were great on their own as well! and the CHARACTERS! there is a reason why ace attorney continues to hold onto peoples' hearts today, and it's the amazing cast of characters. whether you love them or love-to-hate them, quite a few of these characters were great! the animations, the quirks in the way they talk, their personalities were all incredibly detailed: both characters in the background as well as the main cast that we've gotten to know over these past three games are great. not to mention this game has two of the best antagonists in this series! to end the trilogy, capcom certainly, CERTAINLY stepped up their game with trials & tribulations, and it definitely paid off. everything about this game is just the cream of the crop, all the way through. i'm quite sad that i've finally completed the series, but what a way to go out!
