3/5 ★ – lupincentral's review of Sonic Advance 3.

The weakest game in the “Advance” trilogy, but a solid 2D “Sonic” from a time when “Sonic Heroes” and “Shadow the Hedgehog” were being farted out on home consoles. Stage design is often unforgiving, and I personally feel this is one of the trickiest 2D titles the franchise has seen to date. While it was fun to test the character combinations, the team mechanic feels equal parts useful and annoying. Characters often get in the way and interact with stage gimmicks on accident. The bosses are a mixed bag, with some being the best in the trilogy and others utterly infuriating. There's a lot of hub world faff outside the three act stage structure, with a couple of mini-games I didn't particularly care for. Music is on top form, though, with a unique track for every stage. Try the other two games before sitting down with “Sonic Advance 3”. 6/10 Played on a Nintendo DS Lite
