4/5 ★ – mariomario4156's review of Postal 2.
This was one of the most insane video games I've ever played. It has extreme edgy humor, and honestly, it reminds me of a lot of South Park's Humor. Since I am a big fan of South Park, I found the game is very funny, but also very offensive as well. Heck, even I got offended at some of the jokes (At least 2 of them) but I do realize that the whole game is just supposed to be really stupid and make fun of everything and everyone, and you're not supposed to take any of it seriously. (Just like South Park)
Postal Dude is one of the best parts of the game, he's really funny and is really weird as well.
His one liners and random quips he says at random times are funny or just very interesting. It's kinda unique that your playing a game where you can choose to be a good guy or a bad guy, but yet the main character is insane and chill at the same time. No matter what you do, he just has a monotone voice with a chill vibe to him. Well, at least most of the time, he's pretty chill. Also, he can be an dick sometimes but the same can be said about the NPCs themselves.
The open world is also very cool, you can go into every house and explore and you can explore pretty much every building which is something that you can't do in GTA. The NPCs are very crazy as well, from the normal people to the bad guys to even the crazy people. Everyone in this game is a little crazy even the cops and animals. I really like how you can just explore and just do whatever you want in the little town and the map is pretty big as well, not GTA big but it's a pretty large map filled up with so many secrets.
You also have a large amount of weapons you can use multiple guns, knifes, tasers, and random house hold objects as well. Also you can literally pee on people if you so desire to, which is pretty weird...But hey at least I can say this is the first ever game I've played with pee physics so that's kinda interesting I guess.
I played in normal difficulty mode, and it was a challenge. I even got really pissed off at the Postal Services level and had to walk a way for a while. But It's mostly a pretty fun challenge. You can either do things as a pacifist or go crazy and shoot everyone or just shoot the bad guys it's up to you. I mean, that's kinda the whole point of the game. You can do good and not hurt anyone, or do bad and hurt people; it's completely up to the player.
There are also multiple enemies you can fight, from Red Necks, to violent protesters, butchers, and even to really bad guys...Most of the bad guys are not so hard to fight, but it can be a challenge when they freaking pull out RPGs that target onto you and can kill you in any second. Or just rush into you in crowds of them. But they are still fun to fight.
I really liked the level where you get your book signed by Garry Coleman. I remember watching Different Strokes with my parents, so it was pretty cool to see him in the game. Also, he gets swatted by the cops in the game, and that's not the only insane thing that happens in this game, but I'll let you figure out what else happens in the rest of the craziness in the story.
In all, Postal 2, while being absurd and offensive, is a pretty funny game with awesome gameplay, an insane storyline, and crazy characters that makes one heck of a fun experience to play. Also, once again, the Postal Dude is freaking really funny.
