3.5/5 ★ – mavg87's review of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time.
Re-play.
Sly 4: Thieves in Time may not have the most rock solid narrative, but what it lacks in plot, it makes up for in addicting gameplay.
The open worlds are beautifully realized with the classic mission structure still holding up well from previous entries, although admittedly many of them are way too easy to complete. But the dynamic levels are fun and being able to play as Sly’s ancestors with different move sets is genius.
By far the best gameplay element though is the collectibles. I adore hunting for clue bottles, the costumes used for finding treasures is satisfying, and the masks add a special kind of challenge to round it all out.
I don’t love the newer character models, but almost everything else was translated really well from the original trilogy to the PS3 generation.
