3/5 ★ – megazu's review of 33 Immortals.

33 Immortals is a game that – despite its current form – feels like a project with a beating heart and a strong artistic soul. Thunder Lotus has created a world that is captivating to inhabit and almost meditative to move through, if not for the resistance encountered in the sluggishness of its systems. The game is undoubtedly at its best when shared. Cooperation, co-strikes, and communal chambers occasionally create something that borders on chaotic magic. This is where the game shows its true potential: in the togetherness, in the chaos, in the tactics amid the storm. But it demands patience. And perhaps more than many will be willing to give. The progression system hinders immediate gratification, which is a shame when the rest of the experience invites you to dance. Still – if you have a few friends along for the ride, and you can live with a system still searching for its rhythm, 33 Immortals is already worth experiencing. And with a bit more refinement and future updates, it could become something truly special.
