Knocked the wind out of me. A game that revels in the innate pleasures of video games, pieced together by dozens of little things that scratch that part of your brain that provides endless dopamine hits. Obviously, this being handled by the team behind Odyssey meant that industry-leading game design is basically a guarantee (levels that fold upon themselves in mind-boggling ways). What I didn’t expect was to care at all about the duo at the forefront! Was genuinely moved by the end by DK and Pauline when I could give less of a shit about the plumber in the devs’ previous outing! My grievances with the Switch have always been the hardware and never the games. So far: great start! The Switch 2’s first killer title!
