I really liked Yuko’s Island Express. This might be one of the best (and weirdest) spins on a Metroidvania game I’ve ever played. It’s not nearly as technical as something like Hollow Knight or ORI... but it’s delightful. The pinball controls can be a little annoying and not nearly as precise as you’d like at times, but overall I think it’s a fascinating approach to movement that plays well. Sound and music design are solid- fun, chill music that slides between moody and upbeat with some quirky little punches that add to it’s already impressive charm. Visuals are fun and stylish, although I would have loved to see them really press into something a little more experimental, especially given the nature of the game in general. Overall, this is a should play; especially for fans of Metroidvanias. And pinball. Lol.
