3.5/5 ★ – neda's review of Beyond: Two Souls.
The story was reach. They sure spent a lot of time on it. It wasn’t something new, but it was written good. I cried a few time, so good for them. It was a little too long though, and I blame some of the early chapters, especially childhood ones. Some were just unnecessary and didn’t add anything to the narrative. And they took damn long to get to the point. The score was great. It was a big production for sure, but I’m afraid it wasn’t as good as what creators seemed to think. They took themselves way too seriously. Yet it was an exciting and amusing experience for sure.
All characters were meh, even Jodie. She was dumb and badass at the same time which doesn’t make sense. The CIA parts were lame and boring too. Yeah we know CIA sucks in case of international things, because it’s none of their business, but I wonder do Americans themselves really believe that too or they’re just joking with us at this point?
The game play was interesting in that sense that it was diverse and had every theme and every genre possible. But at the same time it was just annoying at times. Like why are you making me use three different keys just to get up? I have to press a key for 10 times in a row and at the same time keep pressing another key and at the same time move the mouse just to do the most basic things? They were just asking for a lot.
And those people supposed to be Arab? That’s not how Arab people look like! That part was on my nerves the whole time.
Ryan was the villain in this story. He was disgusting. I didn’t like him even for a second. He ruined the game for me. I hate that son of a bitch.
Last chapters all were a mess. The ending was unnecessary too. Nothing had an end and I didn’t like that. The last few seconds… I didn’t appreciate it at all. I don’t know how to say it without spoiling anything, so never mind.
