3/5 ★ – ohmightyqueen's review of Quantum Break.

Playtime: 9.7 hours Firstly, this game is absolutely stunning and runs like a dream on the steam deck, i played 90% of it on the deck and never had any issues with it, in fact my first and only crash was in the final mission while playing on PC. The uniqueness of the gameplay then an episode of a tv show is something ive never experienced in a game before but i really loved it. It was a nice way to pace the games story. I also liked that you could get different parts of the show if youd unlocked them. The gameplay was quite fun at first, i played on normal difficulty most of the way through. However, some of the fights, in fact most of them with the harder enemies just frustrated me. The movement and use of abilities felt clunky (i know this is a 2016 game played in 2025) and had me more than a few times putting down my controller to have a rage break. The kicker that dropped my rating to a 3/5 was that last boss fight. I had to restart maybe 30 times ('Better not, Jack' words i am happy to say ill never hear again!) and i scoured the internet for tips, finding a lot of others having the same issue as me. Finally i deicded to start the mision again on easy mode and completed it first time. Happy its over but disappointed it took me lowering the diffulty to do so because i really loved the story and the game overall is such a cool concept with great acting and big names to boot. Id recommend playing this game on easy if you like a story but be wary of trying it on normal or above unless you want a serious challenge.
