Destiny 2: The Final Shape - 9/10 A ten year journey to stop the end of the universe Gameplay: Every section of the story is locked to two puzzle sections and then the big bad whose shield is broken by the puzzles. Overall very good in comparison to some of the other DLCs systems of combat. Also new is the prismatic subclass that allows you to mix and match abilities and perks from all the five subclasses in the game. By far it is my most favorite subclass in the franchise and puts it on a nice path towards more of an action rpg design like that of borderlands. Difficulty: I played through this campaign on legendary and it was quite challenging but allowed me to ease myself into the new character building system that was added a year or two ago. Level Design: A mishmash of location designs from all over the franchises in a confusing maze of a mystical world. Very wild open and hard to battle in with the intense legendary difficulty, but with plenty of buff locations to obtain the second super bar to go into the rage mode. The new open world map is pretty good as well with some of the more exciting public events I’ve seen, oddly it isn’t open to other players so you must match make to engage with them at a normal time rather than slog through it solo. The overall map has teleports across the big open areas with the connections holding on to the rest of the prismatic perks which is fine as a design. Atmosphere: Best in the series I love how all of it combines into a very similar but foreign region to explore. It’s also got some neat corruption monoliths that grace the map from the witnesses own mind. Story: A nice conclusion, but I don’t have the rest of the plot from the last two expansions to go off of to feel the build up, just playing this expansion alone made this super powered being feel like a pushover. I know that’s not the case, but it goes to show how much you miss with the boring seasonal content you don’t engage with. The story was a great bookend to this long running story they have been crafting, however I feel that the raid was the main “ending” with the final match made activity being the cherry on top (Personal Summary) Best Parts: Cayde-6 is back and funny as ever, it felt very earned of a comeback. It’s the best expansion I’ve played since forsaken so many years ago now. Worst Parts: Somewhat short, and getting all the perks for the new subclass are fine. It’s better than the stasis unlocks from beyond light, but some of the puzzles are so vague and tedious to complete, with some extra perks feeling extremely useless for ever specially crafted builds. Final Thoughts: Neat that is over with a bang rather than the continuing bad that they always fall into. I will not be hopeful and say that they’ll do the right thing next because more than likely they’ll spike the standards straight down to hell once again. Good going bungie please don’t screw up again especially charging $100 for the next year of seasonal content that has the worst track record on your entire resume. It’s a very low nine though. - 9/10
