3/5 ★ – oshanick's review of Gordian Quest.
This is a game I really wanted to love, the artstyle and the concept really hit for me, I love deck builders but often look for something 'extra' in them. I think this game does have brilliant ideas, the first few hours I'm ecstatic at how cool this game is....
And after about 30 hours with it, I can say that the ideas aren't fully realized.
For example; gear is a really interesting idea for a deck builder: the gear is oversaturated and confusing. Too many elements is how I would sum up most of this game. While its fine giving a game a lot more depth, there is such thing as too much.
The game has a Campaign and also a 'Realm' mode which is more shorter runs similar to something you'd fine in Slay the Spire. The problem is it feels like this wasn't the main focus for the game so even that mode doesn't feel well realized, but the Campaign feels over long and bloated.
This is before I mention the console version is full of bugs, I had multiple progress errors in this game that CORRUPTED my story file multiple times, something that has never happened for me playing another game.
I'd say try this game on PC if you're still curious!
