3.5/5 ★ – peatorama's review of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader.
Objectively speaking Roguetrader is a pretty great game. It's a fantastic jumping off point for getting into the 40k setting, sporting a great set of companions to fall in a love with and an in-depth, enjoyable combat system. However, it feels just a little unfinished, keeping the Owlcat games tradition of "it's a better time to play post all released content, 3-4 years after launch" Compared to something like Baldur's Gate 3, it's quite buggy, lacking alot of polish and quality of life features that would help ease the humongous playthrough time. Personally, the biggest issue is it's sporadic use of voice acting, having close to none in it's current build, robbing some of the character of the world that the video game medium can bring. It's alot, and I mean alot of text, and while that can work for some people, I want my visual medium voice acted. I will eventually pick it back up and see the main story through to it's conclusion, just with some time, and hopefully a decent amount of quality of life upgrades.
