4.5/5 ★ – phillipthemale's review of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.
So much better on new game plus. Actually getting to experience the story properly without constant interruption to grind out side quests made this whole game so much more enjoyable. Despite the fact it has almost nothing to do with Assassins Creed, the story is really good and it’s probably one of the more historically accurate games in the series (as long as you play as Alexios, Ancient Greece wasn’t exactly known for equality to women, sorry Kassandra).
Also, being able to play the side quests out of enjoyment, rather than to level up was an added bonus, as there are some really interesting side quests.
However, the level system is still atrocious and the modern day story is boring.
Offering the choice of protagonist, only advertising Alexios and then immediately upon release saying Kassandra is canon might be the stupidest thing Ubisoft has done, and then they did it again for Valhalla.
