4.5/5 ★ – prcastro's review of Paradise Killer.

A hidden gem. Everything in this game works so well for me, I'm starting to wonder if I was somehow involved in its production. Investigation is really satisfying: a mix of digging deep into conversations and exploring every nook and cranny the world. This world, while expansive and full of stuff, never feels overwhelming, due to its masterful design. A good level design dictates pace and teaches players how to play the game. This is exactly what happens here. No small feat for an open world game. Characters are very tridimensional, with tons of personality. This is delivered through the well written dialogs, but also with the small amount of voice acting and animation (think Persona 5 in terms of how this is done here). At the end of the investigation, your relationship with almost every character was a rollercoaster. And the art! OMG the art is superb! Not only the charming graphical presentation, but the character design and music are also incredible. Even sound design, normally forgotten during a review, should be mentioned here. It's so so good. I only wish the final dialogs weren't so rushed, because I wanted to spend much more time understanding and talking to the people in the island. A solid recommendation for everyone interested in a good investigation/open world/visual novel experience.
