1.5/5 ★ – pstrauss's review of Middle-earth™: Shadow of War™.

I played Genshin Impact and then this. This is different than a gacha game how? Menus upon menus of endless dense upgrades, levels, abilities. It's exhausting to see page after page of information, tips, tricks. There's an art to easing players into a game world and smartly introducing them to new concepts. This game throws you into a city of endless enemies and says "ok good luck". The game starts at 11. Unique "nemesis" enemies appear so often it's actually better to try and avoid them because the novelty of their personalities pale in comparison to the tedium of their interruptions. Mechanically it feels exactly like the previous game but they doubled down on the padding, obvious attempts to get real money out of you and the terrible, terrible fan fiction plot. A real shit stain of a game.
