3/5 ★ – seppaqueas's review of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

I had my concerns starting Lost Legacy. It begun feeling bland despite the fantastic leads to helm Uncharted's latest legacy, but soon it opened up along with its lead characters to become far more an interesting game than first expected and experienced in the beginning hours. A double 'A' counterpart to the main stay chapters of the Uncharted series, lacking the extravagant, over-the-top set pieces and that extra shiny polish that comes from Naughty Dogs' pedigree. But a beautiful game no less with sweeping vistas, ancient scenery, and great characters and fun banter that bridges the gap a little closer for what it lacks elsewhere. One thing it does not lack is character. O, how I like Chloe and Nadine in the series, and this game serves nicely to flesh them out further in their adventure. Far more refreshing from the several outings as the same ol' Drake bumbling through everything with rougish charms to save him and a huge swathe of luck, and not to mention his brother Sam. But that does not make up for the dull puzzles, half-baked gun fights, and repetitive gameplay that has carried the series through thus far. Lost Legacy also suffers from such dumb A.I. that doesn't at all suit the level design for gun fights with allies often oblivious to their surroundings and enemies, and least of all knowing what the flank is to protect or use to their advantage. It's saving grace is it's shorter length to save from its tedium and frustration at times. It's a nice little side-story to the series that is more of the same, great if you like that sort of thing. Cannot shake the feeling that its a lingering after-thought and tentatively treading water in the long running series. I wish they had reimagined a fresh take for Chloe and Nadine than just a rehashed uncharted game full of the same ol' stuff we've done before. An enjoyable adventure all the same, if only for Chloe and Nadine
