3/5 ★ – sheldoman's review of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

I really liked this when it first came out but feel like I enjoyed it substantially less on a second playthrough. In my reviews for the other Uncharted games I keep mentioning how much I enjoy the characters and this one is no exception. Drake is great. I like the introduction of Chloe but still prefer Elena. The plot is more engaging in this one and I like that there's a bit more globe-trotting. The more movie like action scenes is really cool to a point... But this game constantly takes it too far. Like climbing up a train that's dangling off a cliff is cool, but having each car like fall off as he climbs goes from tense to ridiculous. Same with running through a collapsing building while henchmen are still stopping to shoot at you. I think the twist in this game is a lot less effective than the first game. I wish they would've tried something different than another form of supernatural enemy. I also hated the fights vs those stupid yetis and that whole section of the game was just like me desperate to get to the next area so I could finish it. This game is fun and in a lot of ways it is superior to the first but I also think it's a lot dumber and it also just didn't hook me in the same way. No shame if you like this one better, but for me it's just a little too over the top. Don't get me wrong though, still a good game.
