4/5 ★ – slovakia's review of Warframe.

Nowadays it seems like everyone has that one multiplayer game they invest countles hours in (and most probably money as well). CS2, League, Valorant, R6 Siege, Rust, Fortnite, Apex.. The options are countless and I've played my fair share of most of them. But what I always circle back to is Warframe. Two thousand hours in, which is not that much considering the inhuman playtime I've seen from other players, I think I can confidently say that this game is... Pretty good. Which is unfortunately categorically better than most of the current F2P Multiplayer money-printing wonderhits. Specifically for 2 reasons: 1. Free-to-play in Warframe means free to obtain EVERYTHING that a wallet could get you in this game. "But it takes thousands if hours!" It doesn't. Sure, it takes a few hours to get through the tutorial, then maybe a few hundred hours to actually understand how the game works. But because of how the trading system operates, if you get effective at getting loot, you can get rich quickly and for free. I'd say most veteran players, if tasked to start a brand new account, would be able to cash a considerable sum relatively fast. I think most players that make this Pay to Win argument just get through the tutorial, see there's a premium currency that lets you rush crafting and just connect the dots. Fact is, Warframe has a big "you know if you know" problem, where if you just download the game willy nilly and play along you will have a hard time. "But there's real money-only cosmetics!" True. But those are the minority and they exist for two reasons. Tenno-gen cosmetics are fanmade skins that thosr fan creators recieve money from. Sure DE still gets a percentsge of it, but comparing it to any of the battle pass systems out there is ridiculous. The other kind of exclusive items are support packs. From my knowledge, only two of those have existed: The Founder packs when the game was in beta and the recent Heirloom set. Both were fundraisers to help the game survive. DE is very transparent with the money they make. Nowadays we got used to the term Free Update or Free DLC. DE just makes updates and expansions, no need for the prefix. The game is and will always be 100% free. No paywalls, no BS, no "yeah you can play but if you don't pay 20 bucks for the season pass you'll miss all the rewards". 2. Speaking of content, Warframe *actually* has that. Character wiki entries and non-canonical seasonal events. An actual fleshed-out world and story. And a good one too. Everything happens on-screen. Why are we fighting this guy? Boom, PDA narration. Where did the Warframes come from? Bam, a bunch of questlines. People say Warframe is forgotten, that it won't survive another year. It just celebrated its eleventh, with a lot of news on the horizon. It doesn't look old, it doesn't feel forgotten, it sure as hell doesn't play badly. It's Warframe, "if you know you know".
