suhbas2049's review of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney − Spirit of Justice.

First Playthrough Date: April 19th 2021–April 28th 2021 Platform: 3DS Emulator The Foreign Turnabout: ★★★★☆ The Magical Turnabout: ★★★★☆ The Rite of Turnabout: ★★★★☆ Turnabout Storyteller: ★★★★☆ Turnabout Revolution: ★★★★★ Turnabout Time Travel: ★★★★☆ The Foreign Turnabout was a superb tutorial case, the Divination Seancé is a great mechanic and is introduced well. Ahlbi is precious, he's a great defendant and character, and it just makes you want to save him all the more. Its very enjoyable taking down Andistan'dhin and seeing the Payne family fail again. The Magical Turnabout is great, it doesn't wear itself out and it is great that it doesn't stretch itself out into two days. Athena as the assistant and co-council is great, and livens up some otherwise dull investigation segments. Retinz is a great culprit, and the introduction of Sadmadhi doesn't disappoint, and establishes him well. The Rite of Turnabout raises the stakes immensely. While having Maya as the defendant, AGAIN, seems repetitive, the case, and having Maya as co council after so long, makes up for it. Although, I found it hard to keep up with all the convoluted twists that popped up at the second day in court the case wraps itself nicely. I liked the investigation segments with Rayfa, and how it the tension between the rebels and Kura'in government was presented. It was quite a twist to khow that Dhurke raised Apollo and Nahyuta. Turnabout Storyteller was refreshing! I loved having Simon as co council and playing as Athena. The witnesses were all colourful and interesting, and taking down Geiru was quite satisfying. The multiple personality revelation was handled as well as an ace attorney game could lol. This is definitely up there for my favourite filler cases. PLEASE more cases like this. I love so many things about this case, notably playing as Athena, and bringing back another prosecutor. Turnabout Revolution is a great conclusion, it's quite an interesting turn of events, going from facing Wright off in court, and ending up in Khura'in changing their legal system. I just cant believe that they had Maya accused of murder AND taken hostage twice in the same game... That aside, the heavy use of spirit channelling was interesting and led to some pretty insane turn of events. Dhurke's death I felt was very emotionally impactful and increased the emotional stake hold of the case. The ending was done quite well, I enjoyed Apollo finally having an conclusive end to his arc. Perhaps that'll allow the writers to focus more on Athena. Also I wonder when Apollo and Trucy will finally find out the truth. The DLC case, Turnabout Time Travel was quite fun, Ellen was a very sympathetic defendant and her sprites were really expressive and unique. I enjoyed the reunion of all my favourite trilogy characters (No Gumshoe though...) and cornering Nichody, who was quite a sympathetic culprit. I liked the incorporation of 'time travel', which tied in well with Sorin and the Pierce who both metaphorically reliving their trauma. Overall, this was such an improvement compared to Dual Destinies, the series feels like it is finally back on track. I do hope that AA7 will bring back certain people, both in the game and behind the scenes of the game.
