4.5/5 ★ – summercomet's review of BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Episode 2.
oh wow wow wow.
I always expect quality from Bioshock and I am always pleasantly surprised. The team always does something so unique with every installment that they work on even if it's DLC, in fact, they're responsible for what's in my opinion, some of the best DLCs for a video game to ever exist.
I'm really grateful that they decided to give an answer to the atmosphere that the original Infinite set up since it felt like the team knew that they weren't going to be responsible for the series for a while. The story does such a wonderful job concluding not only the game but the entire series as a whole and as a huge fan of the franchise, it brought joy to my heart. I won't talk much on the story, but if you're a fan of Bioshock it's everything that I could've asked for.
In another note, I was really hooked to the stealth mechanics introduced into the game and taking advantage of Rapture's more horror aspects to the system's utilization makes the game so much more engaging and worthwhile to experience. It plays so different in a way that doesn't give you whiplash, it's a great installment and I welcomed the new playstyle.
I love Bioshock, and I love what the team was able to do with a decent runtime for this expansion to which I would recommend anybody who's looking for a great story to indulge in. I don't know when I'll be able to experience the series again, but I'll be fine waiting for as long as it's needed for another one of this caliber.
