4.5/5 ★ – swoop's review of The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition.
Great puzzle game to play for relaxing. The setting is very strong and the story told via terminal and audio logs is slow at first but grows to become a good emotional one. Since this game is nonlinear there are some puzzles where you feel like you completed the harder version first so the simpler version does not challenge you. However, that is a small downside for being able to do the puzzles in whatever way works for you. Not being restricted to a level that you cannot solve is a great idea and the game gently reminds you to try another level if you are stuck. This game has a ton of cute references to other games and little fun secrets you can come across which really helped speed up the search for the bonus stars. My biggest issue with Talos Principle is not knowing how far I should go to get the stars. I had another issue finding the last bonus star because there was no signage for it, I think that’s just me being unlucky and not experimenting enough but maybe if the area that had the star had a signpost it would’ve helped or maybe it would make it completely trivial to find.
Other than those few issues, this is an easy game to recommend for people who enjoy puzzle games!
