Episode 1 was better than I remembered, but it's still a narrative and gameplay low point of the HL2 games, I can't name a single memorable sequence outside of the hospital shootout, and the climax is uniquely bad, which-- is tragic! But HL2's base design philosophy and solid gameplay is still here, and Alyx is a huge boon to the otherwise weaker story, so it's still pretty good!
