3.5/5 ★ – theebigbamtheory's review of Genshin Impact.

Currently I have reached adventure rank 45, and it's been quite a journey with this game. From the occasionally annoying yet entertaining story and characters, addictive gacha mechanics, flashy and satisfying combat system, unevenly designed but engaging world exploration, beautiful but somewhat limited music, and more; the game has been a great company during these dark times. It is far from perfect, but the game's fun factor is more than enough to keep anything else from rudely interrupting the experience. Free to play players will need to fight a steep hill later on with the progression systems, but considering the scope of the game the devs have provided here, I can't complain too much about that. The devs also seem to have a good grip with how they're updating the game. Not only they have added occasional fun events with good rewards, but also new story missions centered on new characters, and new areas to explore (although the latter is only introduced very recently with the Dragonspine update). As a casual player, these update are enough to make me stay with the game for the long term.
