2/5 ★ – thegeekboy's review of Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.

I have thoughts let’s just say.. on one hand it’s not exactly a bad video game itself, but on the other hand, it’s a terrible sonic game. Take away everything that makes Sonic so special, turn it into a treasure hunting game similar to the Lego games, give it corny humor and some of the worst writing in any Sonic game, and that’s Sonic boom rise of the lyric. It’s repetitive, gimmicky and pretty boring. Which is strange because I somewhat enjoyed parts of this game. At least they brought back team Sonic, maybe not in the best way, but it’s still there. Also doesn’t help that I hate the Sonic boom series. Anyways this is probably the worst Sonic game by far, but it was to be able to touch the Wiiu again.
