4.5/5 ★ – thegeekboy's review of Sonic Generations.
And I thought colors was short
Generation was the one sonic game I’ve been very excited to check out, as it’s the accumulation of all the mainline sonic games that came out from colors, to the first. I think it delivers on the premise enough, but it comes off short. You get to play one level from each of the games, and I personally would have swapped a few of them. I found myself enjoying the last 3 stages (06-colors) the most, especially since 06 and unleashed are my favorite mainline games. Bummer secret ring and black knight got no love, but I’m at least happy to see blaze and silver as characters (even if they aren’t non playable). The game wound of benefited from more cutscenes, if this game came out before the meta era I Bett we would have gotten some mean ass cutscenes. I loved the controls, but playing as classic sonic was boring, while I enjoyed the modern sonic levels. It’s a very fun game, that does the franchise service, while being safe at the same time. I definitely think the game had potential to be a 10/10, but I’ll be nice enough to leave it at a 9/10.
