4/5 ★ – toby_92's review of Life is Strange: True Colors.

I think this is a return to form for the LiS franchise, after I was slightly disappointed with LiS2. The lack of a central location and consistent set of background characters really hurt that game IMO, and this game feels like a direct response to that. The location of Haven Springs is cool, but also a lot more open and explorable than previous LiS games have ever been, which helps connect to the space. The characters are also mostly likeable too, although I suppose that depends on the choices you make! The improved engine also adds a lot visually, taking the LiS art style into the next gen. The soundtrack is good, as you'd expect, and the power is really interesting and makes for compelling scenes. The overall story is alright, although maybe it follows the beats of LiS1 a bit too closely... But I still had a good time, and by the end was invested in Alex as a character. She's definitely my favourite LiS protagonist.
