trolan23's review of Assassin's Creed: Mirage.
Originally conceived as a DLC for AC Valhalla, and you can tell as a long-time AC player. AC team always does an amazing job bringing these locations to life, and Baghdad under the Abbasid Caliphate is no exception. As an American, not knowing the history was sort of a double-edged sword-- with lots of AC games I get a kick out of soyjaking at Blackbeard or Karl Marx or George Washington or whatever, and I didn't know many figures in this one-- but it was very cool to get the opportunity to learn more about the history and culture. Tries to revive old AC stealth roots, but you can still kind of just brute force through with a more limited, clunkier moveset than other AC games. Kind of falls in a weird middle of the road in that way, wish it kind of committed to one or the other. The story felt like I kind of wanted more pay-off from characters like Roshan or the one old dude who you brought artifacts for. Overall fairly decent game
