2/5 ★ – vr_'s review of Middle-earth: Shadow of War - The Blade of Galadriel.

Glad I played this after Baranor’s DLC, as I may have not even given that DLC a chance due to how lackluster this one was. Eltariel’s “unique” gameplay style is just a worse version of Talion with an extremely lame “Light projectile” that ended up needing to be spammed in order to beat enemies. Somehow the orc dialogue was pretty cringy and annoying, while in the base game and Desolation of Mordor it was pretty enjoyable. The main quests in this are extremely short and extremely boring, not much gameplay wise is redeemable either than maybe the first and last mission. The added story cutscenes are fine, but nothing too stellar. My biggest annoyance is that the game teases an Asian inspired area Middle-earth location in a single 30 second cutscene rather than setting the DLC in this new unique area like they did with Desolation of Mordor. Seeing a totally new environment and new human NPC's would have been extrmeley exciting rather than re-navigating areas that look the same as the base game. Somehow the roguelike speedrunning DLC has better cutscenes and characters than the story based epilogue DLC… Also I can’t take Eltariel’s face seriously as she looks like she has lip fillers lmao.
