I wanted so badly to play this game and say that it's a hidden gem, but alas...it's just average. The beat em' up mechanics were fun and threw a wrench into the regular sonic formulas but there was a bit of jank in the platforming. The same can be said for the regular stages along with a lack of care while crafting some stages causing major headaches. The final gauntlet of the game takes too long to finish; one 30+ minute level with a Eggman boss fight at the end, followed by another boss fight...followed by ANOTHER boss fight. The whole 'collecting sun\moon medals' to progress in the game was pretty annoying. Also, the PS3 version has frame-rate issues but looks nice overall.
