4.5/5 ★ – yemmytheferret's review of Wanderstop.

Is it coming from the same guy who made The Stanley Parable? Yes! Does that put some enormous expectations on Wanderstop's shoulders? Of course. I don't think anyone is hyping up the moment-to-moment gameplay of The Stanley Parable, it's the story and writing that elevates that to the next level. Wanderstop does not have any time constraints, it is about serving tea and learning to move on. It is smartly written; humorous at times with a cast of colorful characters but also poetically deep when it needs to be. The common theme of change is prevalent throughout, especially with the main character who is grappling with the fact that she may never do her profession at the same level she used to again. There is choice in the matter, not just with the tea you serve up but also with the outcome of the story. There is a lot that I would like to say about the various characters, but I feel it is better to experience it. If the idea of making tea while tending to the building and patrons doesn't sound appealing, I leave you with this...does walking around an abandoned office sound thrilling at first?
