4.5/5 ★ – yodahome's review of Cloudpunk.
I just finished the main story today. It's taken me about 10 hours, there are still some notes to be found and there's also a DLC afaik. And I can say I would like to go on. It's been a fun story with a lot of twists and turns and a really great cyberpunk city atmosphere that I'd say is both created by the busy environment and the really awesome characters. They mostly come alive because of the amazing voice acting, but it works! Especially Rania, the protagonist and stranger from outside of town, comes across as really loveable and relatable. The voxel look is totally in tune with the cyberpunk aesthetic.
Of course cyberpunk is about more than just looks, and the game manages to at least hint if not take a closer look at all the usual suspects: AI. robots/androids, social alienation, injustice, poverty vs wealth, noir crime, body modifications and big questions about identiy and humanity. It's all there. be it a little less complex than e.g. in Cyberpunk 2077 or other cyberpunk stories. If you don't mind driving a flying car as the main game mechanic. give this one a whirl.
Quick story blip: You play as Rania, a girl who is new in town and works her first night shift for Cloudpunk, a barely legal delivery service. You're driving across a multi-layered mega-city called Nivalis which looks all flashy on the surface but is quite broken beneath that. You get to know all kinds of weird beings during what turns out to be a life-changing night.
