3.5/5 ★ – ysobh's review of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc.
Danganrompa has a massive fucking target on its back so it is exceedingly easy to criticize it for looking and playing like an escape the room flash game that u find for 0.69 on steam, but well I played the entire thing in 3 days flat so it has to be doing something write. What I am noticing is that I am enjoying games that have a weird mix of elements that aren’t usually put together (and yes Midnight Suns helped with that) I’d much rather have a game that is fresh and unique and maybe yes isn’t as well done as the newest jimminy cock throat by the cunts in the AAA industry. As I am playing more games and my critical spectrum is widening, more and more games are falling into the mediocre middle so I am trying to seek out more unique games that aren’t up my alley. As for the game itself, while most of the elements surrounding the actual core of the game are shite, the exploration is BS and so are the 3D graphics, the core of the game: the mystery and the characters. Are all excellent. I found myself genuinely caring or despising the characters and I was invested in the game to go through to the end even with all the shitty pacing and the sudden grinding of gears after every single class trail. The biggest praise I can give this game is that, well it sold me on the entire franchise frankly. I genuinely like these characters now and I want to see where they go and what happens to them.
