3/5 ★ – zhoont's review of Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition.

Gets a few things right, gets a lot very wrong. Nioh 2 is a direct sequel to Nioh, but feels like pulling teeth in a drawn out mediocre DLC of that game. The only meaningful improvement are the new Fists weapon which are fun to wield. Everything else is just a direct rehash of things from the first game, and often done more poorly. I loved Nioh and put almost 200 hours into it. This game is just not worth playing if you've already experienced the world of Nioh because it brings nothing to the table. I wanted to love this game like the first one, but it's not possible.
